A selenium derivative of ascorbic acid

Take any cancer preventative or any cancer medication that features a Group VI element and in general, the sulfur derivative is stronger than the oxygen derivative and the selenium derivative is more powerful than the sulfur.

So what about making sulfur and selenium derivatives of vitamin C, which features oxygen at the active sites, and trying to use those as preventatives and medicines?

Why not do this with other medicines?
