Doctors say we need only 75 mg or so of vitamin C, yet if we give our bodies grams, they take up grams.
Same for sodium chloride, except doctors say we need only 0.5 grams a day, while we absorb virtually all that we eat, about 12 grams a day for the average American.
Same for cholesterol, except doctors say we need 0 grams a day, while our bodies will greedily absorb up to a gram a day.
Same for so many other substances. Even squalene, which our bodies manufacture off the mevalonate pathway that leads to cholesterol. Doctors say we need none, yet most people absorb supplemental doses at near 80% efficiency.
Why? Why? Why? Why?
Because the body is fighting the real enemy, the real threat to our health, deficiencies, and doctors are shadow boxing the fake enemy, reasonable excesses.
