Rule: common sense is uncommon.
Exception: Only a few people in a hundred actually have enough common sense to guide them wisely.
Pure common sense from Darwin: individuals better adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and are more likely to have more offspring than those less well adapted.
Conclusion: This idea, pure common-sense, all but true by definition, was bound to be rejected by the majority, EVEN IF the idea did not insult man’s pride. Given the insult, the rejection was swift, violent, and all-but-guaranteed. An incredibly vain being with but little brains, man is laughably predictable. Maximum Irony reigns. Nowhere to dwell among men, common sense goes a-begging.
