Optimal dental hygiene

1. Before eating, brush teeth, clean tongue, and/or gargle mouth and throat with a germ killing substance. (this reduces the number of bacteria in the mouth; since we cannot brush or gargle while eating, this is the best way to reduce the ill effects of subsequent eating).

2. Rinse well

3. Eat for five hours (Fast Five Diet Format) – consuming one or more Square Meals and calories to your liking.

4. Floss, brush teeth, clean tongue, and gargle mouth and throat with a germ killing substance.

5. Rinse well.

6. Drink water the rest of the day (19 hours fasting).

People who eat three meals a day, six mini-meals, or three meals and snacks have a seemingly impossible task to achieve good dental hygiene. Their best defense against tooth decay and periodontal disease is the same as the best defense against all preventable diseases: proper nutrition as embodied in Square Meals.
